Vegetarian Strict vegetarians can become deficient in Vitamin B12; abundant in animal protein - beef, fish, chicken, yoghurt, cheese etc, it is not in vegetables alone. B12 deficiency prevents red blood cells from forming properly & DNA synthesis is compromised.
